HelmGuard Secures $7.3 Million for AI-Driven Risk and Compliance

Share

HelmGuard, a UK-based startup specialising in artificial intelligence (AI) risk and compliance, has raised $7.3 million in seed funding to advance its agentic governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) and security platform.

The investment round was co-led by Infinity Ventures and Frontline, with additional support from FinTech Collective, Stage 2 Capital, and Entrepreneurs First. The company intends to use the capital to expand its engineering and go-to-market teams and increase its presence within the United States market.

Automating Risk Assessment with AI Agents

Founded in 2024 by former Palantir executive John Daley and CTO Jack Miller, HelmGuard has developed a platform that employs AI agents to continuously collect and assess risk signals. Unlike traditional GRC tools that often focus on documenting existing processes, the HelmGuard solution integrates directly with source systems, including documentation and unstructured data, to automate workflows.

The company claims its approach can reduce assessment cycles to several hours by unifying fragmented security and risk data. The platform’s AI agents automate risk management, assurance, and control gap assessments, synthesising findings into a single, unified view for security teams.

Addressing AI-Driven Vendor Risk

The startup highlighted a growing challenge regarding vendor risk management. As an increasing number of software providers integrate AI into their products, HelmGuard suggests that security underwriting performed at the time of purchase may no longer accurately reflect the current operational state of a vendor.

To address this, HelmGuard’s agents are designed to collect evidence and assess risks based on verified, real-time claims. Daley stated that the funding will allow the company to extend its capability to govern the various AI agents currently being deployed across other enterprise workflows, moving the industry from simple documentation towards active risk conclusion.
