Premier Medical Group Data Breach Exposes 282,000 Patients’ Medical Info

New York healthcare provider Premier Medical Group (PMG) is notifying more than 282,000 patients that their personal and medical information was compromised in a data breach.

The incident occurred in June 2026, when attackers accessed specific files within the provider’s systems on 14 June. PMG, which operates multiple offices in the Hudson Valley providing services including cardiology, neurology, and gastroenterology, confirmed that the stolen data contains sensitive information.

The compromised records include patient names, contact details, and dates of birth. More critically, the breach exposed treatment and diagnostic details, medication information, health insurance data, dates of service, and internal patient identification numbers.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has added PMG to its data breach portal following official notification from the healthcare provider.

PMG has not yet clarified how the attackers gained access to the systems or which threat actor was responsible. As of September 2026, no ransomware or extortion groups have claimed responsibility for the breach.

The provider has recommended that affected individuals closely monitor their healthcare statements and health insurance plan details. Patients should contact their providers or insurance companies immediately if they identify any medical services that were not received.
