40% of Security Teams Use AI Daily, Survey Finds

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into security workflows is accelerating, with 40% of security teams now using AI on a daily basis.

According to the “State of AI in Security Operations 2026” survey conducted by Prophet Security, 56% of security professionals are currently testing AI technologies. The research, which surveyed more than 250 Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), Security Operations Centre (SOC) leaders, and practitioners, found that only 4% of respondents have no plans to adopt AI.

Preparing for AI Agents

As security teams move towards more advanced implementations, the focus is shifting to whether SOCs are prepared to deploy autonomous AI agents. This transition requires organisations to assess their operational maturity to ensure that AI tools can be integrated effectively without compromising security stability.

The research suggests a significant push towards automation within the industry, placing a premium on the ability of security leaders to manage the complexities of AI-driven incident response and threat management.
