Thousands of Facebook users have taken to social media and online forums to report problems accessing their accounts, sparking concerns about a possible outage affecting the popular platform.

Users across multiple regions reported issues ranging from failed logins and account authentication errors to problems loading feeds, accessing Messenger, and viewing content. Reports quickly spread across Reddit and outage-monitoring platforms as frustrated users searched for answers.

On Reddit’s Facebook community, numerous users described being unexpectedly logged out of their accounts, receiving repeated authentication code errors, or being unable to regain access despite entering correct credentials. Some initially feared their accounts had been hacked before discovering others were experiencing similar issues.

Previous Facebook outages have caused similar confusion, with users reporting “session expired” messages, broken login systems, and problems receiving two-factor authentication codes. In many cases, the issues were later linked to platform-wide technical disruptions rather than account compromises.

According to outage-tracking reports, Facebook has experienced intermittent service disruptions in recent months, including a notable outage in March 2026 that generated more than 11,000 user reports within hours. Many users reported website access issues, login failures, and service interruptions during that event.

As of the latest status reports, there is no indication of a widespread ongoing Facebook outage affecting all users. Meta’s business status page currently shows no known major service disruptions across its core products, while some independent outage monitors also report normal operations. However, localized issues and account-specific problems may still occur.

What to Do If Facebook Isn’t Working

If you’re unable to access Facebook, experts recommend:

  • Refreshing the page or restarting the app.
  • Checking your internet connection.
  • Clearing browser cache and cookies.
  • Updating the Facebook app.
  • Trying a different browser or device.
  • Checking official Meta status pages for outage information.

Users should also be cautious about phishing emails or messages claiming their Facebook account has been suspended or hacked during periods of reported outages, as cybercriminals often exploit confusion surrounding major platform disruptions.

For now, Facebook appears operational for most users, but anyone experiencing issues may need to wait for service restoration if the problem is linked to temporary technical difficulties.
