NITDA and NACCIMA sign MoU to boost MSME digital transformation

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) have signed a strategic partnership to accelerate Nigeria’s digital economy and drive digital transformation for small businesses.

The agreement was formalised via a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by NITDA Director General Kashifu Inuwa and NACCIMA Director General Engr. Olusola Obadimu at the GITEX Nigeria event.

Driving MSME Digital Growth

The collaboration establishes a framework to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through technology-driven growth. The partnership focuses on several key areas:

• Development of a collaborative digital ecosystem platform.
• Enterprise digital transformation for MSMEs.
• Promotion of digital innovation and technology adoption.
• Capacity building for Nigerian businesses.
• Cooperation for the Digital Nigeria International Conference (DNICE) 2026 and subsequent editions.

NACCIMA Director General Engr. Olusola Obadimu described the arrangement as a timely intervention for the private sector, noting that digital transformation is essential for businesses to remain competitive in the global economy.

Obadimu further noted that the partnership is designed to support Nigeria’s youth population, who are increasingly driving digital entrepreneurship and innovation.

The partnership aims to facilitate stronger linkages between government institutions, the private sector, technology companies, and academia. Both organisations have indicated they will begin implementing the agreement immediately.
